Thank you for
your message.
Further
consideration has been given to the various options previously
identified as a possible solution to your particular set
of problems. In view of latest developments, the Council would be
prepared to make a second permit available to you at a cost of
£30 per annum. You are already aware that the Council's new model
residents parking scheme will make second permits available at a
premium price of £65. However, in making this offer I have taken
account of the points you have raised about the potential benefits of
being able to chain both of your bikes together and of the
argument put forward about the amount of roadspace that would be used.
The
new scheme is not scheduled to be rolled out into
Zone 3 until around April 2007 although preparatory works and
advertisement of the relevant Traffic Regulation Orders will commence
in January.
This
reduced price second permit is being offered with immediate
effect in order to try and assist you. The second permit would be
issued on the clear understanding that it could not be used in a motor
car and would be marked to identify it as being for a motorcycle only.
Any abuse of the second permit could lead to it being
withdrawn.
