Before I start, I should explain that this article seeks neither to glorify or justify terrorism, but simply to look at how terrorists are created.
Contrary to popular belief, terrorists are not madmen. A madman could not have conducted the rigorous planning necessary for the 9/11 attacks. There are undoubtedly terrorists who
are madmen, but for the most part terrorists are not mad. They have a different belief set to those they are attacking, which in todays world is all too often a western target.
It is this belief set that is vital in understanding what makes a terrorist, because terrorism is based on beliefs. These could be a religous faith, or simply a strong belief instilled into you by an outside party. The most obvious belief is not always the underlying cause, whilst
