A few changes

As some will no doubt have noticed there have been a few changes on Benscomputer.no-ip.org/ recently,there has been a partial changeover to using Pivot. This has advantages for some pages and disadvantages for other, so the site is likely to maintain it's status as a hybrid. The biggest change that has happened today is that I have archived some of the older materials, it is all still available (apart from one page which got lost), but you may have to get to it through the Archive Index. I have tried to preserve link integrity for some of the pages, in some cases I have simply redirected links, in others I have just placed symbolic links in.

Some of the pages were not deemed worthy of this however, so should you for whatever reason need them the archivepage is the place to look.

I have explained it briefly on the Archive page, but the reason for doing this is to free up some Disk space on the faster Hard Drive before it actually becomes a problem. The Archived pages are all now stored on another media (and may even end up on optical media eventually) so you may find slightly longer waiting times when accessing them.

Another major change is the appearance of Google Ads, Hopefully when they become more relevant they will point to items of interest to readers.

I have not sold out completely however, some advertisers have been blocked from advertising on this site (I am not going to name names though) and any ads that I deem as inappropriate are likely to be filtered out as well. Similarly I have turned SafeSearch on for the Google Search boxes, so hopefully you shouldn't get beseiged too much.

The Firefox buttons showing around the site are something I feel quite strongly about. Internet Explorer has become both a Liability and a Danger in terms of the kind of security flaws it has, it is time that people changed Browsers and I personally feel that Firefox is the best choice. So please hit that button and install Firefox today, the web will be a safer place everytime a vulnerable browser is extinguished by the market.


Firefox is free, and is a great improvement to your system. No software will ever be 100% bug free or immune to the attentions of bad people, but it is far and above Internet Explorer.
