Wales say motorcycles are a danger

On bbc news today is a story about welsh motorcycling.You can read it here. Whilst I do agree that some bikers drive very dangerously, I would not hesitate to argue with a generalisation. The speed at which motorcycles filter varies, but but by the sounds of it these two guys were doing it at speeds most wouldnt dream of. They deserve to be banned and thankfully one of them is mature enough to admit it.
I am posting this story for two main reasons, the first being to lend a bit of balance to the blog as a whole (I realise I complain about car drivers a lot) but secondly because I disagree with a comment made in that story. The father of someone who died in a motorcycle accident states that he would like bikes to be illegal. I do sympathise with the guy, he has just lost a son, but his son did know the risks associated with bikes, as do we all.

However the suggestion of banning bikes shows what a nanny state we are living in. For the government to even think about it would highlight it all the more.
