As some may know the Government in the UK are very excited about the possibility of charging us over-taxed
creatures by the mile for road use. Indeed Yesterdays news has a story on it. It suggests that the Government will look to see if it is
viable to replace Fuel Tax and the Road Tax Disc, which should be fantastic news. Unfortunately there are a few
things that stop it from being that way. Firstly I cannot think of a single time that the Government has ever
changed anything in a way that it is cheaper for the Taxpayer, secondly and more importantly I am not convinced
that the Government will abolish the Road Tax and Fuel Tax, this is more likely to become an extra tax. SO what should we do about it? Contacting your MP is the first step, give a clear reason as to why you are against it, Secondly if evert motorist in the UK refuses to have one of the devices fitted then the scheme will be dead. The Government cannot take 29 mllion motorists to court after all. This Government has damaged our country enough, its time to put a stop to it, we cannot let this be their parting gesture! |
