This has to be one of the funniest
things I have read today. For those of you that don't have time to read the article, Youtube is being threatened
by a company called Universal Tubing, who as you may expect sell pipes. Now Youtubes website is www.youtube.com and Universal tubing have/had a
site at www.utube.com. Can you see where this is
going? Universal Tube want to sue youtube because they have had so many hits from people who were actually after
Youtube that their server crashed. In fact they have changed their Domain name 5 times already according to the
article. Now what I find funny is that most companies would love to be able to have the number of hits that
Youtube.com gets, but instead they are looking to take legal action. They want compensation for the customers
that they lost due to downtime, and they want youtube to buy them a new domain name. I think chances are they
will get a settlement, but if it ever went to court I'm not syre universal tubing would do all that
well. Posted by Shifty_Ben |
